Pink Snowy Warmest Wishes Card

Hello my crafty friends.  This week I am sharing my pink snowy card with you guys!

I wanted to make a calm and toned down card for a while.  Today I finally made one I like, LOL!  The colour scheme of this card are soft pink, grey and black, nothing screaming!

I first stamped the image on a Copic friendly A2 size card stock.  I then work on the background by first masking out the little hill and the girl, then using the blending tool to apply the grey ink on the card.  Once I was happy with the grey sky background, I peeled off the hill side mask and used the blending tool again to apply pink ink to that white space.  The image was coloured using Copic Markers.  The snow was done by using both white pigment ink and pink ink.

The sentiment is heat embossed on a piece of sparkly paper using white embossing power.

A Dreamy Noel Card!

Hello my crafty friends.  I hope you have great weekend.  We have had a lot of snow here  in Calgary Alberta, since last Friday!  It is finally sunny this morning and I am enjoying the sun.

I think I make better card when I am inspired by colours.  Today's card is one of the example.  The card is made mostly by blending ink colours.  I wanted a rainbow colour christmas tree with transparent white "bubbles" or "snow" on it.  I die cut the christmas tree out and used the sponge daubers (cause it is a very small area to blend) to blend the colours.  I did the background exactly the same way but added a layer of white shimmer to lighten the colours so that the colours of the christmas tree stands out more.  Finally I  decided to give the tree a little bit more dimension by die cutting more trees and stacked them and glue them together.

The christmas tree die is from Hampton Art - 6 pieces die and stamp set from last year.  I am sorry that I can't find a link to this set anymore but I am sure you can use other christmas tree die you have for this card.

The "snowy bubbles" were done using the lots of dots stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and white pigment inks.  The dots on the tree were done using Hero Arts white pigment ink cause the white stands out more, while the dots on the background were done using Tsuineko Brilliance Moonlight White cause it is a very light shade of white.  The "not very rounded" dots on the background is from accident from the white shimmer spritz.  I actually liked the accidents.  It makes the card more interesting :)

Let It Snow - A Pseudo Monochromatic Colouring With Ink Blending

Good Day Everyone!  My daughter's and my husband's birthdays are coming up, yes their birthdays are only two days apart,  I am super busy trying to get things organized and ready for them.  I have to admit that I weren't at my craft table that much this past week!

Anyway, I spent a couple hours making a card last night and took the pictures this morning to share with you guys.

So what is pseudo monochromatic colouring with ink blending...I invented the name myself, haha!  I don't know if someone has done it before, but to me it is really simple, easy and super fun.  With my Misti, I first carefully arrange the stamps on an A2 size white card stock so that each of them are in the middle of the four quadrants of the card.  I then stamped the images using different distress ink colours.  Then, I covered the card with post-it note and exposed only one quadrant at a time .  With the ink blending tool, I carefully apply a lighter colour of the same hue as the stamped image to the area, including the stamped image.  After I did this for all the quadrants,

I added some colours and shades, mostly the same hue (that's why it is pseudo monochromatic), to the stamped images with copic markers.  I also highlighted some area of the stamped images with my favourite slicci metallic gel pens and doodled around each rectangular quadrant...look at the lovely shimmers on the images!

To finish off with the card, I embossed the sentiment using clear embossing powder.

The images are all from Hampton Art's clear stamp set from last year.  I can't find a link for you guys at all...sorry!
