Big Thank & Stamping Bella

Hello, I hope you had a great weekend.  I am taking the online Copic Jumpstart class from Sandy Allnock, it is keeping me very busy but super fun.  The class is packed with a lot of information on how to use Copic markers, make your own colours with Copic, blending and shading, and Sandy's insights about Copic markers.  It is way worth the money!

Anyway, regarding my card this week, do you have those moments that you were working on a card but hadn't finished and not sure if you would continue working on it, cause it didn't turn out the way you want.  But then the next day, you saw something laying on your craft table, you picked it up and put it on top of your unfinished card and "BINGO", you got an idea and became passionate again about the card that you almost gave up!

That is what this week's card is about.  I had an Stamping Bella's image I wanted to colour and decided to pull out my Faber-Castell's Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils.  I coloured the girl and didn't like how it turned out.  I didn't want to colour the rest and left it for a night.  Then, the next day I saw this big Thank sentiment die piece left on desk from when I was helping my daughter with her card.  I got a random idea on where to put this sentiment and boom...I was all excited again!

Patterned Paper & Felt Flowers

Hello, it was a long weekend in Canada!  My daughter had 5 days off and we were out most of the time, not outdoor though cause it was snowing and raining all weekend!

Anyway, here is my very simple card.  I used some American Crafts patterned papers (from a couple years ago), felt and sequins to make the flowers.  The pattern paper were punched out using Martha Stewart Layering Punch - Wild Flower, while the felt were die cut with the Desert Bouquet die set from My Favourite Things.

I don't know why but I just like to colour the felt myself...and so I did it again.  This time, I used distress ink and rubbed the ink pad directly on the die cut felt pieces.  Tips, I used the sticky side of a post-it note to hold down the felt while rubbing the ink on.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps' stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day!

No stamping - Direct Colouring On Die Cuts Flowers With Distress Inks

Hello, I am back with a flowery card for Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge.  This card are made by using My Favourite Things Desert Bouquet Die set.  However, instead of using its co-ordinating stamp set, I decided to take out my sponge dauber and distress inks to colours the die cut pieces.  I die cut the flower pieces first on Arches 140LB watercolour paper.  The flower pieces were die coloured using distress inks and sponge dauber. I like how the watercolour paper grabs the ink when I apply the ink using sponge dauber.

The leaves are die cut using the scrap paper from my Clear & Sheer - Watercolored Bird on Embossed Vellum Background card.  I used the same die from this watercolored bird project to die cut the leaves.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp's Sending And Wishing Stamp set.

I hope you like this card and have a super creative day :)

Here is the supply list.

Stencil It - Happy Mother's Day Ladies!

Hello, I am back with a Happy Mother's Day card for Simon Says Stamp's Stencil It Wednesday Challenge.

I am still playing around with Faber-Castell's Glass Beads Glitter Gel, really love the see-through sparkles it leaves on images after it is completely dried.  I did something different this time.  I used Copic to colour the flower, then layer the Glitter Gel on top of the flower (petals only).  After the Gel is completely dried, I coloured the flower, i.e. the dried Glitter Gel, with Copic again to get the colour of the flower more saturated.  The flower is from Inky Antics - Brushed Tulip stamp set.

I also distressed the deep yellow card stock with Carved Pumpkin and stencilled the bricks on it using the same colour.  The flower pattern on the white card stock is from Prima's Glorious Flora stamp set and  It was stamped using Dried Marigold distress ink.  For the little frame for the flower, I die cut it on a piece of white card stock first then sponged different distress inks on it to make the frame a little more interesting.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted - Love You Tons stamp set and I stamped it using Versafine.

I need to thank my husband for taking the picture for me.  He is a way better photographer than I am...if I am, LOL!

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a super awesome day!
